Phra Phrom, Thailand's name for the Hindu creator god Brahma, is a central deity in Thai folk belief, blending Hindu and Buddhist traditions. He is widely known as the "Wish-Fulfilling God" and revered for his four faces, symbolizing omniscience and omnipotence.
His modern prominence began in the 1950s, when the construction of Bangkok’s Erawan Hotel was stalled by accidents and rumors of bad luck. Upon consulting a revered monk, management was advised to install a statue of a benevolent deity to restore balance. A statue of Phra Phrom was consecrated on November 9, 1956, after which construction proceeded smoothly and the hotel flourished.
As reports of answered prayers and granted wishes spread, the site grew from a local solution into a global spiritual destination, attracting devotees seeking blessings from around the world.
