How to Worship (Step-by-Step)

Step one：Prepare Your Offerings

A standard offering set includes:

  • 12 incense sticks (3 for each face)
  • 4 candles (1 for each face)
  • 4 flower garlands (1 for each face)
Step two: Approach and Position Yourself

Stand before the first face (holding a rosary).

Step three：Present Your Wish & Make Your Vow

Clearly whisper your name, wish, and how you will give thanks if it is granted as below:

  • Your Identity: Full name, date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY), and residential address.
  • Your Wish: The specific request or desire. Provide clear, concrete details.
  • Your Promise: The method and intended timeframe for fulfilling your vow of gratitude upon the wish's realization.

The First Face (holding a rosary): →The Second Face (holding a scepter) → The Third Face (holding a vedas): → The Fourth Face (holding a conch shell)

Step four: Place Offerings & Pray at Each Face
  • Face 1: Place 1 candle, 1 garland, 3 incense sticks. Pray.
  • Move clockwise to Faces 2, 3, and 4, repeating the offering and prayer at each.
Step five : Complete the Ritual
  • Return to Face 1 for a final prayer of thanks.
  • Perform the holy water blessing on your forehead, face, and arms.
Step six: Remember to give thanks.

If your wish comes true, return to fulfill your promise. Common ways to do so include:

  • Hiring Traditional Dancers: Commission a traditional dance performance; you can choose the number of dancers based on your budget.
  • Offering a Carved Wooden Elephant: In Thailand, the elephant symbolizes wealth and wisdom, making this a classic votive offering.
  • Presenting Flowers and Offerings: Such as seven-color flower garlands, fresh fruits, and other ritual items.
  • Making a Charitable Donation: Donate to the temple or a charitable cause as an act of merit.
